Gained a BA Hon in Photography at Falmouth College of Arts.
Tom has always been interested in design as well as photography, these influences of typography and product design all feed into his practice. With a divers portfolio ranging from still life through to events photography, Tom is an experienced practitioner who’s established a personal style of articulate, well crafted images, noted for exceptional attention to detail and effective use of light.
While studying, Tom became engrossed with urban landscapes and modernist architecture. Fixated by the forms created when he de-contextualised his subjects, simplifying the structures down to the pure components, drawing organic forms from manmade environments.
Key photographic influences range from the likes of, Simon Norfolk, Gregory Crewdson, Storm Thorgerson, Michael Kenna and Alexander Rodchencko.
